Prepare for a school meeting with a clear, documented plan
This planner helps families and school teams turn a student's history, strengths, difficulties and existing results into a written plan they can discuss and follow through on. It asks consistent questions and applies the same decision rules (a draft, pending educational review), so each meeting does not have to start from scratch.
View the sources behind the questions and suggestions.
Who it is for
- Parents, guardians and educators getting ready for an Illinois public school meeting.
- Students identified after grade 6, and students with long-standing concerns who have never been evaluated.
- Students who need help with reading, mathematics and writing โ together when that fits.
How it works
- Describe the student: grade, history, concerns and strengths.
- Answer follow-up questions for the areas that matter. "Not sure" is always an acceptable answer.
- Check the summary and correct anything that is wrong.
- Get a draft plan with reasons and sources, plus printable meeting materials.
Where the questions come from
The questions and suggestions draw on published screening and intervention practices from Ohio, Florida and Texas, used as comparison sources for how screening, follow-up and progress checks can be organized. Illinois and federal guidance describe the local process. Every suggestion links to its source.
AI is optional
You can turn on AI for a case to help read your written description. The AI only proposes observations, and nothing affects the plan until you confirm it. The plan itself is built from fixed rules, and everything works with AI turned off.
What this tool does not do
- It does not diagnose dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, ADHD or any other condition.
- It does not give scores, percentages or probabilities.
- It does not decide eligibility, create an official IEP or 504 plan, or decide placement.
- It does not contact the school for you. You decide what to share.
- It is not legal advice. The final decisions belong to a qualified school team working with the family.
