About this planner and your privacy
This is a pilot. Its questions, rules and suggestions are drafts that have not yet been approved by an educational reviewer.
Limitations
- This tool does not diagnose any condition, give a validated screening test, decide eligibility, or write an IEP.
- Each recommendation is a starting point for a school team discussion. It is based only on what the adult reported.
- A diagnosis entered here is shown as reported by the adult. The tool has not seen the evaluation behind it.
- Ohio, Florida and Texas materials are used as comparison sources for good practice. An Illinois school is not bound by another state's rules.
- Support and an evaluation discussion can happen at the same time. A family does not have to wait for an intervention to finish before asking for an evaluation.
- AI suggestions only enter a plan after the adult confirms them. The rules, not the AI, decide what the plan recommends.
- The questions, rules and wording are a draft. An educational specialist has not reviewed them yet.
What is stored
- The answers you type into the questionnaire are stored on this server in a private database, linked to your account.
- You do not need to enter the student's full name, date of birth, school name or address. Use a nickname or a case label.
- Your browser does not store your answers. They are saved on the server when you press a save button.
AI interpretation
AI is off unless you turn it on for a case in the "Privacy and context" section.
If you turn it on and ask for an interpretation, the text you typed in the description and strengths boxes is sent to Anthropic's Claude model through the Claude Code command-line tool running on this server. The AI's only job is to propose observations, such as "difficulty reading unfamiliar words", each tied to an exact quote from your text. You confirm, correct or reject every proposal. Fixed rules produce the rest of the plan.
Removing names from the text helps, but it does not guarantee the text cannot identify the student. Only write what you are comfortable sending.
Deletion
- You can delete a case at any time from "My plans".
- Unfinished cases with no activity for 30 days are deleted automatically.
- Inactive cases are deleted automatically after 12 months.
- Files you have already downloaded or printed cannot be recalled.
Who this pilot is for
This pilot has not completed a FERPA or Illinois SOPPA review. It is meant for families' own planning, not as a school's system of record. Schools should not use it to store official student records.
Shared computers
If you use a shared or public computer, log out when you finish. Anyone using the same browser while you are logged in can see your cases.
